Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process in which a neutral third party, known as a mediator, assists disputing parties in reaching a mutually acceptable resolution.  Mediation encourages open communication, collaboration, and understanding rather than imposing a decision upon the parties involved. 

Mediation is a highly beneficial method to try when seeking to resolve disputes because Mediation provides a unique opportunity for people to actively participate in the resolution process, The process is confidential and private, mediation is cost effective compared to litigation or arbitration, and mediation focuses on preserving relationships. 

AHL Mediation Services bills at a rate of $250.00 per hour.  The fees are often split amongst the parties equally, but sometimes the fees are covered by one party, or split proportionally based on various factors agreed upon by the parties.  A mediation should take no longer than 8 hours and is often completed in 4 hours.  This is dependent on the nature of the dispute, and the issues involved.
